# Introduction

Friendly Market is launching a **lending protocol** on the **Nibiru blockchain** that combines **native lending pools** with **cross-chain markets**.

* **Native Pools** → For assets like **NIBI** directly on Nibiru.
* **Cross-chain Lending** → Supply/borrow in **Compound on Ethereum and Base (other chains will be added in the future)** using **LayerZero + Stargate** bridging.
* **Liquidity Hub** → Friendly Market is creating the environment that transforms Nibiru into a **cross-chain liquidity center**, where billions in TVL are accessible.

**Why it matters:**

* Users don’t need to leave their Nibiru wallet.
* They can interact with both **local assets (NIBI)** and **external DeFi (Compound and more)**.
* They get **better rates, incentives, and rewards** compared to isolated markets.
